President's Message
Five Steps Forward

This past May, I had the opportunity and privilege to testify before the Children and Families Subcommittee of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee of the United States Senate. This hearing was convened by Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and addressed "The Challenge of Children with Food Allergies." In July’s eNews, I shared with you the research aspects of my testimony. A/I Match: Again a Success
For the second year, Internal Medicine and Pediatric residents applying for openings in allergy/immunology (A/I) training programs participated in a national common match program, through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Of the 115 positions open for 2009 at 71 A/I training programs nationwide, 108 were matched with a candidate, achieving a 94% success rate. More >
