Basic and Clinical Immunology (BCI) Interest Section

Chair: Kathleen C. Barnes, PhD FAAAAI
Vice Chair: Jordan Orange, MD PhD FAAAAI
Secretary: Francisco "Tony" Bonilla, MD PhD FAAAAI
Staff Liaison: Amanda Buckley, abuckley@aaaai.org

Scope: The Basic and Clinical Immunology Interest Section serves as an anchor and a forum for Academy members interested in basic and applied immunology including: allergy, asthma, autoimmunity, primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, diagnostic immunology, immunomodulation, immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, immunogenetics, and vaccines. The BCI provides a home in the AAAAI for clinicians, scientists and physician-scientists.

BCI Interest Section Committees

Interest Section Committees
Each committee has at least three members and generally no more than 30 members. All committees are made up exclusively of AAAAI members, however, non-members may be asked to participate in a committee meeting or provide expert counsel on a certain issue.

The role of Interest Section committees is to facilitate the exchange of information among and between Interest Section members, consider any need to establish standards in the field, and conduct appropriate, approved research projects.

All AAAAI members are eligible to serve on any Interest Section Committee regardless of their status as an Interest Section voting member. However, they may not serve on more than three Interest Section Committees at the same time.

To learn more about how you can get involved in the AAAAI, contact AAAAI Membership Services at (414) 272-6071, e-mail info@aaaai.org.
